When Can I Go On Holiday?

Motorhome Holidays in Scotland are Permitted From 3rd July

This applies only to vehicles with onboard toilets and waste tanks. All of our vehicles fall into this category.

  • Campsites in Scotland can open from the 3rd July BUT they cannot open shared indoor facilities (i.e. toilet/shower blocks until 15th July). Campsites ARE allowed to let touring caravans, motorhomes and campervans use shared waste disposal point services (toilet disposal/grey water) as outdoors.

Helpful Resources

The following links may help you when planning your trip, including which sites will be open, which closed, which open with limited facilities, etc:

Self-Sufficient Motorhomes

Please bear in mind that our motorhomes have their own toilet and shower so you are not restricted to using onsite facilities. The motorhomes are designed for wild camping away from campsites too, so you can park up by lochs and beaches etc. Water can be filled at service/petrol stations or campsites. Toilet cassettes can be emptied at campsites that are open or have an open ‘motorhome service point’ allowing you to empty your toilet cassette for a small fee.

Campsite Facilities Re-opening Date

From the 15th July campsites can open their toilet and shower blocks, again as long as cleaning protocols are being followed. If you intend to stay on sites, you are strongly encouraged to pre-book ahead of time.

From 15th July, campsites and holiday parks can open indoor facilities like restaurants, bars and cafes  – as long as social distancing and risk measures are in place. (Swimming pools etc are to remain closed until further announcements are made).

Outdoor Activities

Outdoor activities operators are allowed to open from the 29th June (cycling guides, watersports etc) as long as it is not a close contact sport. To help encourage spend within local communities, we encourage visitors to engage the services of local activity providers – not only does it make holidays more fun, but will allow you to experience a new aspect of an area. Visit Scotland https://www.visitscotland.com/ have links to local activity providers on their website.
