What’s happening in Scotland in March?

It’s finally March and as we (hopefully) head towards spring it’s the perfect time to explore Scotland in a luxurious motorhome from Motorhome Escapes.

There’s still time to visit the Scottish Snowdrop Festival which runs from 31st of January to 15th of March 2015. With over 60 venues taking part you can’t afford to miss your chance to see Scotland’s most elegant white flower and as many of the venues are free to visit it really is the perfect excuse to hire a motorhome and go exploring!

With a regional spread from Lochness to Stranraer if you’re really keen you can take your motorhome throughout the country searching for these versatile and majestic flowers. VisitScotland  is your place to go to check out where and when all the snowdrop events are taking place.

We would personally recommend the Cambo Estate in the East Neuk of Fife where you can also buy snowdrops and gifts and enjoy the costal scenery of the small fishing villages around that area. You can also explore nearby St. Andrews and its historic castle and cathedral, or nip by the famous Old Course for a game of golf!

Park up your motorhome at one of Abbyford’s caravan sites ( St.Andrews, St.Monans or Elie) and make the best of your March break.

If it’s not quite the weather for admiring snowdrops on your motorhome escape, you can always drop by Glasgow International Comedy Festival which runs from 12th to 29th March 2015.

With stand-up, comedy theatre, film, workshops and kids shows there’s something for everyone and a great chance to soak up the culture of Scotland’s largest city. Your options are endless on a motorhome holiday.

If you’re after something a bit more fast-paced to get the adrenaline going, take your motorhome along to the Scottish Motorcycle Show on 7th and 8 March in Ingliston, Edinburgh. This Scottish Motorcycle exhibition supplies the whole family with entertainment and includes stunt riders, live bands, and vintage displays.

Whilst in Scotland’s capital (or if you’re not too fussed about motorbikes) don’t miss out on Edinburgh Fashion Week  from 7 – 15 March 2015. With plenty of fashion ideas and tips you’ll be well equipped to go shopping whilst in the heart of the city. Take time to explore the historic castle or relax and have a coffee and soak up the vibrant atmosphere.

And don’t worry, you won’t need to navigate the city in your motorhome. Instead, make full use of the Ingliston Park and Ride facility or any of the other park and ride sites around Edinburgh. We recommend the Mortonhall  Camping Park which is situated on a main bus route  so you can take a quick jaunt into town!
