Applecross – Visit One Of The Most Isolated and Beautiful Villages in Scotland by Motorhome

See the real wilderness of Scotland by motorhome and visit the picturesque Scottish village Applecross, accessed by only one stunning road – a must see!

Known as a sanctuary since christianity was bought here over 1000 years ago, Applecross is reached by quite possibly the most spectacular pass in the UK. Surrounded by stunning beaches with mountains sloping down to the coast, this is still a very untouched and remote part of the UK, off the beaten track. There are a number of places in this small village worth popping into on your visit, like the Applecross Smokehouse for some tasty seafood, the Photographic Gallery for the latest exhibit, the heritage centre to learn about the history of the area, and so much more.

Applecross Walled Garden lies in the heart of the Applecross Estate in Wester Ross, and features some stunning scenery. An award-winning cafe and restaurant are on-site serving up locally sourced fruit, veg and meat. People travel for miles to try this unique cuisine, which includes lamb from Toscaig and venison from the estate itself which is butchered in house. Light lunches, baking, full meals are all available, and they are licensed to serve alcohol.

Camp overnight in Applecross so you can explore at your leisure. The campsite itself is in the main area of Applecross, just above Shore Street and a ten minute walk from the Applecross Inn. This fantastic campsite is currently rented from the Applecross Estate Trust. The facilities onsite are brilliant, including free hot showers and toilets, washing machines and dryers  (coin operated), dish washing facilities, telephone, free internet, and sockets for charging up your phone.

Applecross leans out from Scotland towards the Isle of Skye, and can often be seen from Skye itself, so combining the two into one motorhome holiday is ideal. Get in touch for more advice
